The Chamber of Commerce Group Insurance Plan

Whether you're a one-person firm or have as many as 50 employees, choosing a custom benefit program is easy and affordable with the Chambers Plan.

The Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan helps you and your employees offset unexpected expenses through health, drug, dental, disability, life insurance, business overhead expense and critical illness coverage. The plan insures and provides benefit payments to 120,698 employees and their family members in 29,244 firms across Canada.

Working Together

The Chambers Plan started in 1970 when it was clear that smaller businesses were having trouble acquiring group benefits for themselves and their employees. In a joint effort between the Chambers in Manitoba and the private sector, the Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan was formed. Today it runs under the direction of the not-for-profit Chamber Insurance Corporation of Canada.

Over the 30+ years of plan history, Chambers and Boards have continued the tradition of cooperation, working in concert with plan agents appointed exclusively to their territories. With marketing tactics adapted to each area's unique circumstances, agents and managers conduct a whole range of activities. They exchange referrals, coordinate mailings and insert Chamber Plan ads in Chamber publications, to name a few.
