Chamber Named "Partner of the Year" by the New Canadians Centre |
|
|
The Peterborough Chamber of Commerce is honored to be named as “Partner of the Year" by the New Canadians Centre Peterborough. A special plaque was presented at the NCC AGM at The Market Hall last night (May 10). The Chamber has been a strong supporter of the NCC through the Peterborough Partnership Council on Immigrant Integration, and through the Workplace Integration Centre (WIC) – an initiative largely funded through the Ontario Chamber of Commerce by the Provincial and Federal Governments. The NCC Annual Report praises the Chamber as a “champion for newcomer integration and attraction, supporting the WIC team and welcoming newcomers to the community.” “The reality,” says Chamber President Stu Harrison, “is that there is so much more that we can do. We look forward to continuing our close relationship with the NCC. Immigrant integration will be one of the most important issues for this community in the years ahead, and we can play a catalyst role when it comes to existing immigrant services and the business community.” Media Release
