Camp Kawartha & The Kawartha Outdoor Education Centre
Camp Kawartha is an award-winning, year-round facility dedicated to inspiring environmental awareness and stewardship. In addition to offering Summer Camp, Outdoor Education and Environmental Programs, we also provide rental facilities in both Lakefield and Peterborough for a wide variety of community user groups.
Meetings & Workshops
One of Canada's most sustainable buildings, our Environment Centre offers an inspirational setting for group meetings or workshops.
Located within the breathtaking wildlife sanctuary that surrounds Trent University, the Camp Kawartha Environment Centre in Peterborough showcases a number of innovative sustainable features and alternative energy. This unique 2,000 square foot structure is open year round and can accommodate up to 80 people, with free parking, tables, chairs, a ceiling mounted projector screen, wireless internet, lectern, and a small preparation area with fridge, microwave, sink, and coffee maker. During your breaks, enjoy some fresh air under the shade of our timber frame outdoor classroom, or pause for a few moments near our unique pond habitat. We also invite you to check out our calendar of events for seminars on sustainability and hands-on workshops open to the public.
Conferences & Retreats
Nestled in the heart of the Kawarthas, our Outdoor Education Centre offers an inspirational setting for your group's next conference or retreat.
From September until mid-June, let us assist you in delivering a magical weekend retreat. We can accommodate groups of 25-150 for overnight conferences, retreats, or family events. Our Lakefield facility offers two meeting rooms equipped with tables, chairs, and white boards. Our large 1400 square foot “Rotary Hall” with a woodstove, couches, and wall-mounted project screen, offers a cozy place to relax or setup with chairs to host presentations. Our dining hall, with stone fireplace, can comfortably hold up to 125 people for meals, using the adjacent Rotary hall as overflow if needed. We also offer in-house catering using fresh local ingredients, leaving you free to concentrate on your activities. Our rustic, fully-winterized cabins vary in size from 7 to 19 people, and can accommodate a total of 150 people.
Corporate Team Building
Sometimes the demands of daily work can grind on your employees. An interactive 2-hour team building session from our experienced facilitators will inject new energy and enthusiasm into the workplace.
We’ve developed a series of activities which focus on:

All of our activities are designed to be fun, engaging and thought provoking. You’ll see your team in a new way and you’ll discover skills you never thought you had.
