Getting Ready: How the Current Pension Reform Debate and Legislation Will Impact the Self-Employed and Small Business Owner.
On November 17, 2011 the Federal Government introduced Bill C-25 (The Pooled Registered Pensions Plan Act).
Tailored to meet the needs of small business owners and self employed individuals, the PRPP seeks to make pensions accessible to the significant number of Canadians who do not have a retirement program in their workplace.
While all the final details are still under discussion, what is becoming clear is that all employers will be required to offer some type of retirement savings option for their employees in the near future.
Eileen Madder, Manulife Securities will discuss how the current Pension Reform debate and legislation will impact the self employed and small business owner.
Joining Eileen will be John M. O’Connor, C.L.U., Senior Pension Account Executive, Group Retirement Solutions, Manulife Financial.
Cost: Free to attend, with Chamber membership
